This classic Mexican love story starring Mexican screen legend Luis Aguilar recaptures the golden age of Mexican cinema. Aguilar plays a cobbler's nephew whose uncle sends him to a small town, where he is to meet the recently-orphaned niece of the cobbler's wife and escort her home. Upon arrival he discovers a beautiful young woman rather than the young child he was expecting to encounter, and when they return to the city she soon falls in love with him. Unfortunately the young man is soon to be married, and at a party to announce the engagement the niece flies off the handle, attacking the fiancee and causing a great furor. When she cools down the niece is ashamed of her behavior, and finds herself unable to face her family and new community; she runs off to become a dancer, hoping to earn money to return to her hometown.
